Of course, the plug-in is included in the Pro bundle for $149.99, so if the other software is something you were already considering, it does make a nice deal. HOTiSO has released newest version of Roxio Toast Titanium, well known burning solution for Mac users. After that, the plug-in will sell separately for $19.99. Roxio is also tossing in a free copy of the HD/Blu-ray plug-in for those that buy Toast 10 directly online by February 5. Toast 10 Titanium is available today for $99.99, though Roxio is offering special pricing for Macworld Expo attendees.
Roxio also offers a "Pro" version, which includes a plug-in to author high-definition content on standard DVDs or Blu-ray discs and adds additional software to edit sound and images, including Sonicfire Pro, BIAS SoundSoap, LightZone, and FotoMagico. Oh, and there are 20 new menu styles for creating "stunning" DVD and Blu-ray discs, if that's something you still do. Thankfully, Toast 10 Titanium offers three simple ways to keep your data safe: First, Toast 10 includes Get Backup 2 RE, a powerful, yet easy-to-use utility that helps you schedule automatic backups of selected files and folders to a local hard drive, a network volume, or to a blank CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc. New features include the ability to archive AVCHD-format footage from camcorders to DVD or Blu-ray discs, capture streaming audio and video from the web for offline enjoyment, send SD or HD video from your Mac to a TiVo, convert audiobook CDs to a single file with chapters for playback on an iPod, and sync folders between multiple devices on a network. Toast 10 (since there is no longer a non-"titanium" version, that word seems superfluous) can still burn data, music, and video to various CD and DVD formats as it has in past versions. In what is probably a sign of the coming optical disc apocalypse, the added features have more to do with slinging media files around than with burning an actual CD-R or DVD-R. Roxio is launching Toast 10 Titanium today, an update to the venerable disc burning app for Mac OS.
